Movies@lemmy.world•Can anyone find a good top 100 movie list of 2025 so I can binge?English
3·3 days agoThe order of this list is highly debatable but this is a literal top 100 list. It might be easier to start with two critics top 10 lists here . Most big streaming sites like HBO are highlighting the movies they run that are up for awards but you might be able to find some on free sites like kanopy , although several are still in theaters.

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•What is solarpunk, one vision or many worlds?
2·15 days agoI’m not sure if you’re asking me personally as I didn’t publish the article so I can’t answer for Solarpunk Stories but I’m aware of how problematic Substack is and I certainly agree that an alternative platform that’s not centralized in corporate power that also works with Fascists would be more in line with Solarpunk ethics and praxis.

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•What is solarpunk, one vision or many worlds?
4·16 days agoI think it was meant to be a very concise overview and update of their prior entry which elaborates a bit more. You can find that here . Those should definitely be included in a larger conversation but some might argue that those are solarpunk adjacent so maybe they wanted to keep it strictly to variations of solarpunk 🤷🏼♂️

5·26 days agoI’m glad we were able to find what were you looking for! Definitely the right place to crowdsource a question like this. Thank you for bringing it up! It really makes sense to put those shells to good use and especially relevant for Solarpunk and this community.

Green Energy@slrpnk.net•Solar Panels that Use Peanut Shells, Instead of Some of The Rare Earth Metals.
11·26 days agoI haven’t seen that episode and I unfortunately can’t provide the specific answer you’re looking for but there does seem to be a good amount of of people doing research on using organic materials like peanut shells for energy related project and peanut shells are considered low cost and easy to source. There’s a teen in Zimbabwe who worked on harvesting energy from Peanut shells . Scientists in Canada created a new capacitor from Peanut shells. A a physicist from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal has done work on energy storage using Peanuts. There’s been research into utilizing Peanut shells for solar desalination and a town in Argeinta uses them to keep the power on so I’m sure this is something we’ll be hearing more about in the future

Green Energy@slrpnk.net•10 Green Tech Innovations Leading the Future of Sustainable Technology and Planet Protection
3·2 months agoThe article is attributed to Glanze Patrick and if you click their name you’ll see a list of other articles they’ve written. I think it’s meant to be written in a generic tone so I can see why you would ask. I assume the author is human but who knows if they used something. It can definitely be hard to tell these days. I certainly hope not.

Pluribus@lemmy.zip•‘Pluribus’ Episode 5 Recap: Rhea Seehorn Successfully Carries the Sci-Fi Show's Most Surprising Hour All by Herself ( SPOILERS ) English
7·3 months agoYeah I saw someone on Bluesky say that there should be a crossover with the Chair Company and it did seem to be heading in that direction a little. I liked how it completely changed the tone of the show and still remained funny and suspenseful as you didn’t know what to expect. Rhea Seahorn managed to make it as compelling as possible. Vince Gilligan has consistently shown us that when things slow down it means we’re bulding towards something. Everyone seems to have the same assumption about what she saw in the final shot so I can only assume it’s NOT that.

3·3 months agoThank you everyone for reporting this, constructively discussing in comments and using downvotes appropriately to bring to our attention. After reviewing the account and reaching out to them to no avail, along with their lack of response to community members, we’ve decided it is likely a bot account and have followed many other community mods in banning them from this community. Thanks again all for helping keep discussions constructive here.

3·3 months agoThanks for the shout out regardless Prodigal Frog & Five and for catching that Nemo! The odd spelling may be my bad, I believe I tried the other way, but either way it would be great to see the community take off a bit more and CouncelingTechie and I are pretty open to whatever community members want to bring to it.
Since you like Psycho, I’d recommend Peeping Tom by Michael Powell or several movies by Mario Bava from the era like The Girl Who Knew Too Much and Blood and Black Lace. Eyes Without a Face is also Great. Also Rosemary’s Baby and Repulsion by Polanski. For Japanese Films you should check out Yojimbo, Sword of Doom, and 2 by Seijun Suzuki ; Branded to Kill and Tokyo Drifter. Also check out Dr. Strangelove by Kubrick and if you like New Hollywood westerns , etc Bonnie and Clyde and The Wild Bunch are requisites. French New Wave stuff is important so maybe Breathless and Band of Outsiders and of course Melville’s “Le Samourai.” Spaghetti Westerns were very influential and Leone’s Man With No Name Trilogy ( A Fistful of Dollars, For a few Dollars More, The Good the Band and the Ugly ) and Once Upon A time in The West are a good starting point. There are so many but those are a few recommendations that might send you down further rabbit holes.

If the cat and the Raccoon that ran onto the field a while back joined a team, they would be unstoppable.

I’m aware and certainly agree they should find a more ethical host.
