4·4 days agoTwo-wheelers are very light and compact to park, but they also can’t keep you dry in rain, fall over on ice, and get stolen too often.
Adding bicycle-class cars to the mix would help more people give up full-size two-ton cars.
Kyburz Plus, top speed 30km/h

- Gross weight ~10% of a typical electric car, so probably ~10% tyre dust too. Heavy enough to make theft difficult compared to e-bikes.
- For bikeways. If the plastic surface were designed to yield in a crash, a pedestrian could be safer hit by this than by a bare biker on a bare metal bike.
- Takes less space than a biker because a 4-wheeler can be steered more accurately than a naturally unstable bike needing wobble margins.
- Banned in many places through lawfare: https://xfwnofqagsnmdxuf.quora.com/Lawfare-against-tiny-cars-velomobiles

6·7 days agoI guess barely anyone does:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/faq#canshould-i-relock-my-bootloaderFew devices allow for it and even less work properly after that. Relocking can result in actual unusable devices, so be warned!
https://forum.fairphone.com/t/relock-fp5-keeping-lineageos/108723
If you plan on installing LOS and want to lock your bootloader you’ll have to build your own images, that’s not supported by default.
https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/n7yo7u/a_discussion_about_bootloader_lockingunlocking/
With /e/OS (based on LineageOS), the bootloader can be relocked on Fairphone, Shiftphone, Teracube, and Google Pixel, and they are sold locked by Murena (main developer of /e/OS).
https://community.e.foundation/t/list-devices-where-bootloader-can-be-relocked/48424This means a pickpocket or airport security control can’t take a copy of your system image via USB and brute force your few-digit passcode in a virtual machine without guess rate limiting - they’d have to extract the flash memory chip from the phone to copy it. If they crack the passcode, they can start using your user accounts and whatever information is on the phone.
To be precise, the pickpockets don’t crack the phones, they sell to exporters, who sell to China:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20vlpwrzwdoOn the other hand, I’m appalled by the indifference when users point out failures of e/OS’s core feature, privacy protection, on the forum:
Fake location doesn’t work on HERE WeGo maps, therefore probably many other apps:

About “Phones”,
FairPhone … privacy
With Android? Is that even possible? Surely /e/OS should be recommended here?
They or Murena might soon get an option that is suited for GrapheneOS.
Surely GrapheneOS hasn’t yet decided on the device?
Murena isn’t a manufacturer that could support an OS. Murena sells phones with /e/OS, an open-source, mostly Android-compatible, operating system developed by them from LineageOS based on AOSP.Murena 🇫🇷 has the iPhone look and feel. Pretty easy to use.
“Murena has the iPhone look and feel. Pretty easy to use. Privacy-focused. Runs most Android apps. Uses hardware from other brands, of which Fairphone and Shiftphone are European.”
Yeah, I have that problem in my /e/OS 3.4 A15, and another one, also a failure of the main feature, privacy protection, this time with file permissions:
https://community.e.foundation/t/app-permissions-failure-can-see-all-files-despite-limited-access/69483You shouldn’t blame the whole forum when a dumbass goes off topic in a thread - it happens. Your title was clear, and the topic was clearly the privacy of /e/OS, one example application as proof of /e/OS’s failure, and the dumbass started talking about the example application and alternatives to it…
Do you really recommend Android over /e/OS for Fairphone?
I think you’re exaggerating with “Murena making false claims and not interested in fixing” - I think they’re just lacking the resources to do what they want to do. I think they have a good idea to fix the lack of resources by making money by selling pre-installed devices.
Maybe Murena’s few resources would have been better invested in developing a version of GrapheneOS for some European device.
Once again, a careless inventor put out something not designed to counteract obvious misuses. Shoud have designed a complete system with sensibly aligned incentives.

Unlockable, not unlocked. My Sony was locked until I gave it the unlocking code I got from Sony’s website with my phone’s IMEI. Unfortunately, it’s not relockable with /e/OS installed.
